Her artworks spring through a time-based process, allowing for introspection and healing during their conception. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Jobin’s hand-building technique along with her intuitive approach to art gives birth to asymmetrical, imperfect shapes, which translates the artist’s vulnerability. Her use of ceramic, a fragile medium, reinforces that aspect while inviting the viewer to be vulnerable in their turn as they accept the artworks as they are. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; References to nostalgia in the artist’s work brings the viewer back to a bygone era – childhood, the 2000s, the internet before social media –, adding a mnemonic aspect to her work. Jobin’s use of the nerikomi technique (use of pigments to color the clay body, creating images using slabs, which can then be cut into slices creating an image to be repeated), hints to childhood drawings. These rudimentary images on Jobin’s irregular vases render tangible her memories, allowing for her own archeologic relics to be. •┈••✦ ❤ ✦••┈• &nbsp;La pratique artistique de Mathilde Jobin explore le thème de la mélancolie à travers divers&nbsp; &nbsp; sujets (notamment l’enfance, les souvenirs et la culture internet), en plus de s’inspirer du&nbsp;quotidien et du monde qui l’entoure. Ses créations prennent naissance à travers un processus chronophage, permettant à l’artiste de faire introspection et donnant ainsi un aspect thérapeutique à la conception de ses œuvres. La technique de façonnage utilisée par Jobin ainsi que son approche intuitive donnent naissance à des formes asymétriques et imparfaites, qui pour elle transmettent sa vulnérabilité.
